The Terracotta Family
Our Terracotta Family are made using a slip casting technique. The fantastic workshop who make them start by filling the moulds with liquid clay and allow this to partially dry before pouring out the excess clay. The leather hard terracotta is then removed from the mould and hand finished before being allowed to dry some more. The shades are then bisque fired, glazed by hand and fired again to achieve their beautiful finish.
Part of the Terracotta Family, the Terracotta Medium has a lovely shape and also a wide opening to allow plenty of light to emerge from the shade. It works really well singly or in rows and this also looks great in combination with the other members of the family for a more dramatic statement.
