Depending on our interaction with you, both on our website and via email and phone contact, Hand & Eye may store various pieces of your personal data.

Please be assured that we will never sell your data and will only pass it on to third parties as described below.

Information provided voluntarily by you

What?

  • Information provided when you register/email us for information or make a purchase. This data may include your email address, name, phone number and invoicing/delivery address.
  • We accept payments through Sage Pay (online/by phone) and via PayPal (through invoicing). When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to those payment providers, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
  • We do NOT store credit/debit card information on our servers.

 

Why?

  • We use this data to provide our services to you. For example, to respond to requests for information, place orders, communicate with our suppliers and customers, process orders, communicate with our payment provider, prevent fraud and dispatch goods.
  • We use your location information on our website to calculate taxes and shipping costs.
  • We may also the information for PR and marketing. For example, providing you with information that you may be interested in such as new product launches, sales, our attendance at events and any change to our products or website. For PR and marketing, after a request from you for regarding our products, we may send you a follow up subscriber email, which would then allow you to actively opt-in to our marketing information. We have a double opt-in system for our newsletter and you can also opt-out of this at any time.

How your data is stored

Your data is stored on our computers (password protected), Microsoft emails (password secured) in hard copy form (securely held), on Drop Box (cloud storage) and on our Mail Order Works stock system. Some data is also stored by Mail Chimp and by our payment providers (Sage Pay – online/phone and PayPal- invoice).

In operating our website, it may become necessary to transfer data that we collect from you to locations outside of the European Union for processing and storing. By providing your personal data to us, you agree to this transfer, storing and processing. We do our utmost to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to make sure that your data is stored securely.

  • Sage Pay – Sage Pay provides a secure payment gateway (Level 1 PCI DSS), processing payments. Sage Pay uses a range of secure methods such as fraud screening, I.P address blocking and 3D secure. Once on the Sage Pay systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards. Sage Pay is PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant to the highest level and maintains regular security audits. They are also regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure that their systems are impenetrable. Sage Pay is an active member of the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) that defines card industry global regulation.

 

Unfortunately, the sending of information via the internet is not totally secure and on occasion such information can be intercepted. We cannot guarantee the security of data that you choose to send us electronically, sending such information is entirely at your own risk. We do not store credit card details- these are held and processed by our payment gateway.

 

How long we keep your data for

We keep customer purchase information on record for ten years, analytical information for 3 years and PR information until this is opted out of.

 

Disclosing your information

We will not disclose your personal information to any other party other than in accordance with this Privacy Policy and in the circumstances detailed below:

  • In the event that we sell any or all of our business to the buyer.
  • Where we are legally required by law to disclose your personal information.
  • To further fraud protection and reduce the risk of fraud.
